ohn first gained recognition as a screenwriter, writing CALL OF DUTY, ADVANCED WARFARE, the biggest selling video game of 2014. He is the recipient of an Academy Nicholl Fellowship from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (the Oscars) for his script OUTSIDE THE WIRE which was subsequently picked up by Cinestar Pictures as a vehicle for Zoe Saldana (Guardians Of The Galaxy, Avatar, Star Trek) to star in and produce.

John is co-founder of MACINNES SCOTT, creating hyperreal digital human characters and experiences for VR, AR and XR. They won the 2018 Lumiere Award for Best AR for their work on the global marketing campaign for Netflix's Altered Carbon. MacInnes Scott is currently working with Ryot Studios, spearheading a 5G digital human pipeline for Verizon.

John recently returned to making movies, writing and producing two feature films using a pipeline that combines ‘deepfake' and the game engine technology.
