At the upcoming New York events The Art of VR (Sotheby's, June 22-23) and VR In The Sky (One World Trade Center, July 12-13) LOOT Interactive will debut two new VR experiences. The NASA Apollo Museum and the Harold Lloyd Stereoscopic Museum. Those experiences showcase the full creative potential of social VR for the next generation of museums, storytelling, and educational experiences.

Visitors to the NASA Apollo Museum can explore, in high-detail, one of mankind’s defining moments, the Apollo 11 mission, in which NASA landed the first human beings on Earth’s Moon. Explore true-to-scale models of the Saturn V rocket, Command Module and the Lunar Module, track the entire mission from launch to re-entry via a Museum-size mission map, and teleport to a recreation of the Apollo 11 moon landing site! Built with Sansar, Linden Lab’s new social VR platform, The Apollo Museum Experience is a richly immersive and engaging virtual experience to be explore and enjoy with other people. The Apollo 11 Museum Experience will launch, alongside with Sansar for PC, Oculus Rift, and HTC VIVE users later this year.

The Harold Lloyd Museum features a collection of the Hollywood Legend’s stereoscopic photography set in an explorable multi-floor modern museum filled with historical objects from Harold's lifetime achievements. Those objects were digitized using photogrammetry, the most realistic way to bring real life objects and spaces into Virtual Reality. Until his death in 1971, Harold Lloyd produced over 200,000 3D slides, some featuring celebrities of the day such as Marilyn Monroe and breathtaking scenic views from around the world. Until now, the magnificent library of Harold’s 3D photography remains mostly unexposed to the public.
